Dark Woods Wildlife is a sister company to Dark Woods Farms which dates back to 1895. Starting with their first duck impoundment in 1979, Dark Woods has been improving wildlife habitat ever since. With over 300 acres in duck ponds and impoundments coupled with over 2000 acres of PRIME bear and deer hunting land. With ducks, deer ,swans, and black bears in abundance, they offer a great opportunity to bag whatever you’re after. Good populations of quail and turkeys are also on the rise.

Much of Dark Woods Properties are located adjacent to Alligator River, Mattamuskeet, and Gull Rock Refuges. The majority of the hunting tracts are leased out on a year to year basis, although they still guide hunts upon request. Beginning in October 2003 they will be opening a new Hunting Lodge Service in Englehard NC.

Several members of the 4 Outdoorsmen Ministry Team have met Mr. dark woods web 72Gibbs and have hunted his land. When a planned hunt fell short, Charles made sure that we were able to shoot an episode of “God’s Great land of the Wild” from one of his favorite ladder stands. He sure did us proud and he had only known us for about 15 minutes. To find out more about this hunt go to “Hunting For Aubry.”

It’s a fantastic place to hunt with a very good population of game. Honest and friendly people, and an endless supply of shrimp, scallops, and flounder fillets will make your outdoor adventure one to remember. The best tip we have to offer is hunt hard so you can eat more!!
